I loved sharing my thoughts on the new beauty products I tried last month and am excited to keep sharing! This month I tried a few new items but also added one of my all time favorite skin care products. If you missed last months The Best of May | Beauty Edition, go check it out for more items I’ve tried! I will always give my full, honest opinion!
Billie Floof Dry Shampoo
After trying the Billie Razor (more on this product next month), they launched new products and I knew I wanted to give them a try. I ordered the Floof Dry Shampoo along with the Wonder Wipes, the Super Salve Lip Balm in Fig, and the Dry-Bye Body Lotion. I have an extremely oily scalp. Like I had to wash my hair every single day or it was a greasy mess. As a tired mom of a newborn and toddler, I am so glad dry shampoo came in my life! And I am absolutely loving this one. It doesn’t leave any white streaks on my hair, it doesn’t even feel like there is any product in my hair (huge win for me), and it gives some lift! The ingredients are clean – it’s one of the only dry shampoos that is EWG verified. I am trying to be more aware of the ingredients in my beauty products so I love that this is a clean option! This gets a 10 out of 10 in my book. I honestly can not think of any negatives with this product.
Skindinavia Finishing Spray
So I have a favorite Facial Spray (that was limited edition) & Finishing Spray by Mary Kay who partnered with Skindinavia. Since I love them so much, I wanted to give this one a try. It did not disappoint! A lot of comments say that this is very similar to Urban Decay’s All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. They have a Primer Spray as well that I ordered and will be trying. They have an Oil Control version for the Primer Spray and the Finishing Spray. And for my Makeup Artists and Brides-to-be, they have a Bridal version as well! You can find this on their website (use code 25off for 25% off the sets) or on Amazon.

Olay Body Wash with Vitamin B3 and Collagen
I’ve heard nothing but good things about Olay’s new body washes. I was on the lookout for a new one when I heard about this one. I love the fresh scent (nothing strong), how hydrating it is, and that it has collagen in it which will help firm and help the skin look younger. And who doesn’t want that? It is recommended for combination skin, normal skin, oily skin, and mature skin. It cleanses while infusing moisture 10 layers deep into surface skin leaving skin smooth and soft. When used continuously, the collagen will help firm the skin as well. I definitely recommend giving this Olay Body Wash with Vitamin B3 and Collagen a try! Next, I want to try the Olay Body Wash with Vitamin B3 and Hyaloranic Acid.
Kristin Ess Dry Finish Working Texture Spray
So I wanted to try a texture spray but didn’t want to pay $30+ for a cleaner option. So I happen to stumble upon the Kristin Ess Dry Finish Working Texture Spray while shopping at Target and figured “why not?”. Well, color me impressed. I have not tried any other texture sprays so I can’t compare it but it does give an extra boost of volume and gives that “lived in” look. It’s a soft matte finish, for all hair types, texture building, instantly volumizing, and has an ultra-light hold. It’s not heavy and I can’t tell I have product in my hair. I’ve used this to give volume to straight hair, curled hair, and braids. It gets a thumbs up from me!
Beakey Makeup Sponges
I kept hearing and seeing people talk about the Beakey Makeup Sponges so I had to see if these lived up to the hype. I don’t think they are as good as the beauty sponges I’ve used but they work really well and you get 5 sponges for $8.99 – total steal. So if you go through sponges alot or you are a Makeup Artist, these are a great, affordable option! I have not cleaned mine yet (I just grabbed a new one when I needed it) so I’m not sure if they clean easily. Edit: I’ve washed them since and super easy to clean!
Mary Kay Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask
This has been a staple in my skin care regimen since it launched a few years ago. I have combination (oily t-zone with dry patches), large pores (thanks genetics), and have dealt with mild acne all my life. Since having my second child (he’s 10 months now), I have dealt with awful hormonal acne. Deep, painful, cystic acne as well as the usual whiteheads and blackheads.
The purpose of Mary Kay’s Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask is to unclog pores, absorb excess oil, and reduce shine. When you put this mask on, its a deep gray. As it dries, it will turn light gray but deep gray dots and white dots will form, The white dots will form where I had acne and the deep gray will form around my large pores which is removing oil, dirt, and other impurities from my pores. I love seeing this product work. It is so gross but satisfying at the same time!
For those who like the science behind it, here’s the key ingredients:
Activated Charcoal: known to absorb double its weight in impurities. This will unclog pores resulting in healthier, clearer skin and pores will appear minimized.
Kaolin and Bentonite Clays: People with problematic skin tend to be more on the oily side so these two ingredients will absorb excess oil and shine.
Honeysuckle and Navy Bean Extracts: these are shown to target skin discoloration. Honeysuckle is anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory which will soothe and calm irritated skin (hello acne). Navy bean will improve the brightness of skin and overall evenness of skin tone.
Final Thoughts
I hope you are liking these “best of” posts and they are helpful to you when you’re looking for new products to try! Out of all the new products I’ve tried, I have to say the Floof Dry Shampoo from Billie is my all time favorite. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it is! Stay tuned for the third post in this series next month.
