I have straight, flat hair and this girl needs some volume. I heard so many good things about the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer for months and then my blow dryer died – so time for a new one! I grabbed this one from Amazon because they had Teal (my favorite color)! I usually air dry my hair (because two kids under three) but prefer to blow dry my hair. It would generally take 15-20 minutes but this cut my drying time in half, straightens it, and makes my hair smooth and shiny. So here is how I use it to dry and add volume to my fine, flat hair.
If you don’t already have the Revlon Blow Dryer Brush and want to try it, you can find links to various stores at the end!
Tip #1: Section off your hair
My hair is fine but I have a lot of it making it like medium thickness (if that makes sense). I section off my hair in three sections to make sure I can dry all of my hair, especially at the roots.
Tip #2: Dry Upwards
Since I have thin flat hair, I pull the Hair Dryer upwards from the roots so it give me more volume. I also use this Root Lifting Spray to help add volume at the roots before I start blow drying.
Tip: Use the two longer sides to dry your hair quicker (like the picture above).

Tip #3: Use The Low Setting for Roots
I have found using the low setting for my roots is best. The high setting gets hot and since my hair is thin, it makes it frizzy quickly so putting it on low still allows it to dry without getting too hot and frizzy. Again, I pull upwards from the roots to create more volume.
Tip #4: Curl the ends Under
As I dry the ends of my hair, I curl underneath to create a slight under curl. I typically would do this as I straightened my hair so I also do that with this blow dryer brush!
Tip #5: Cool Down Your Roots
After drying all of my hair, I put it on the cool setting and run it through my hair focusing on the top roots. This allows the hair to cool faster while keeping the volume. I did this with my regular blow dryer as well. This really helps your hair keep the volume you just created.
Tip #6: How to clean it
I clean the hair out of the brush like I would my normal hair brush – I run my finger between the bristles and pull it out. You could also use a comb to clean out the hair.
