Birthday Celebration and Decorating for Christmas
This weekend was so fun and relaxing. My little sister’s 16th birthday was mid-November and she was having her birthday party Saturday night with her friends. So she asked me to do her makeup for the party – just a little something to enhance her features. So my dad and her came over around noon and I did her makeup. My dad was playing with my two year old (they were being so crazy!) and Joe was watching our little one.
After they left, we went to get our Christmas Tree! For those local to me, Home Depot had 6-7ft Noble Firs for $70. We drove by Costco but they had the trees tied up so you couldn’t see them. If you don’t care what they look like, then $40 isn’t too bad! We lugged the tree home (thank goodness we have a truck, I remember sticking our first tree in our little Scion TC).
We celebrated my husbands birthday with his parents & younger sister that night. We had carne asada tacos with rice & beans (so good!) and for dessert we had a homemade angel food cake (I’ll have to get the recipe from my mother-in-law) with berries & homemade whip cream by my sister-in-law, Stephanie. My mouth is watering just typing it out! It was so. good. Then, we played Mexican Train, our current favorite game to play at get togethers!
Sunday was my husbands birthday so we slept in (thanks kiddos) and I made coffee and pancakes from scratch. There was leftover mix from the day before – so I have to give some of the credit to my husband since he made the mix the day before! We hung out, decorated the tree and a little bit of the house. I wanted him to have a lazy day and just enjoy some family time. It was a super simple day but as parents now, it’s the best!
What are some of your fondest birthday memories?
